Target - Object 3D

Track offers robust real-time tracking of complex 3D objects:

Any textured 3D object can be tracked as long as there are enough visual features on the surface. 3D objects without any visual features can be tracked as CAD Targets.

To track Object 3D targets, they need to be trained using the VIRNECT Track Target Trainer.

Characteristics

To track an Object3D target, the full 3D geometry of the object is necessary, along with the full texture and the mapping between the geometry and the texture. This can be created in any 3D modeling software, or derived from an existing 3D object by photogrammetry.

Tip

Some simple shapes (including boxes and cylinders) can be tracked from a single image of the target as Shape targets.
